Easily store home decor and florals in small spaces. My mom recently shared with me that she had figured out how to organize her florals, craft supplies and home decor all in a small 8×10 room. She’s thrilled with the results and asked me to share her solutions.

Figure out what kind of Crafter You are and how you operate. Let go of random in-the-way clutter.

My mom loves crafting of all kinds. She paints, draws, uses florals and ikebana (Japanese Floral Arranging) as well as Bonsai, seasonal home decor, candle making, artistic displays etc. Mom likes to paint and craft around other people. She prefers the social interaction. Her art supplies need to be portable. However, she still needs a space to store her extra supplies. Some of which (home decor and florals, vases, candle sticks, figurines, pictures etc.) she likes to get into seasonally. She’s also learned she has a lady bug (Likes hidden storage & easy put away) organizing style via Clutterbug. {Seriously, if you don’t know your organizing style, this super short free quiz is a life-saver.} And if you don’t know how to make everything fit in your craft room, I have a post HERE that might help. 🙂

Floral Storage

My mom found inspirational images on Pinterest about floral shops in Europe that have decorative and functional trellises. She chose decorative buckets, baskets etc. to store florals in. She ordered a trellis off Amazon and after finding it was a bit tall, she took off part of the bottom pieces to make it fit so the florals could fit on top. (Pro Tip #2 Always measure your space first.) This trellis is the perfect centerpiece to hang baskets from that hold florals. (3. She also mentioned the rolling up brown paper and storing the florals that way after securing them to the trellis.) Florals sit around the base of the trellis divided seasonally for easy access. Reusable plastic zip-ties and S hooks to attach florals to the trellis. And she hangs thinner wreaths behind the door on wall hooks.

Decorative and Functional Displays for Decor

There are 2 white bookshelves on either side of a mirror that reflects the natural light of the window. On these shelves, my mom places beautiful inspiring items that she might use to decorate or simply brings a smile to her face. This is one of her open displays of storage.

Paint and Art Supplies

My mom keeps her paint supplies overall in a rolling cart that can easily move back and forth from the craft room to her dining room or living room. And her other art supplies and new canvases are stored in a drawer a built in cabinet in her craft room.

Home Decor Storage Tips

My mom ordered dish racks that can easily store a bunch of pillow covers, and her seasonal artwork vertically in her builtin closet in a small space. She limited herself to several shelves to put her favorite vases on and votives too. Additionally, she stores candle-making supplies in another drawer, and floral tape, other random bits in her desk. Finally, she hung some of her favorite artwork around the room.

Conclusion:

I hope you enjoyed this blog post. My mom is seriously thrilled how it all turned out and is crafting all the time now. Everything she owns has it’s own home, it’s easy to store home decor, florals and craft supplies. And as she continues to use her supplies, she can always pare down in the future as she gets to know her own crafty style better. What about you? Have you found any of the ideas in this post helpful? Or other ideas? I would love to hear from you in the comment section down below. Items will be linked down below. Thank you so much for reading. Cheers.
